Jim Caron - Ithaca Sunburst pad 1 Jim Caron - reproduction of the original Ithaca Sunburst pad on his new Model 28 Date: 02/20/11 Love this gun, can't wait for some good weather and a free Sunday to go shoot it. I used two spacers and permanently bonded them to this recoil pad, which is a reproduction of the original Ithaca Sunburst pad. I used that instead of a pachmayr because I needed a flat bottom. Plus it looks good. I added 1/2" of LOP and it feels great. Once I see how my longer recoil pad holds up I may offer it as an option for users.

My 1906 "David Minier" 12 gauge. Thought you might like to see this old beauty in its new form. Date: 07/07/11 Thought you might like to see this old beauty in its new form, after I recut the checkering and finished the stock. The internal wood of the stock was broken off and had jammed the safety. I re-built the innards and repaired the cheeks. I added 3/8in of wood as a butt plate to meet my long reach requirements. It is now a wonderful old shooting gun with a great score on the Sporting Clays range.
